Our Story

Katherine and Karl met through work in 2019, during a season when neither of them was really looking for anything new. And yet, somehow, at exactly the right moment,something shifted. What began as a professional connection slowly became something deeper. Their timing felt almost kismet, not rushed or forced, but quietly arriving when both of them were ready to recognize it. Time has remained an important part of their story: time to grow, time to understand each other, time to build trust, and time to become the peoplethey were meant to be together. Their backgrounds are different, and that has become one of the gifts of their relationship. Katherine was born in Kansas City, Missouri, where her earliest sense of family and home began, before moving to Florida and later finding her way through different chapters and places until life brought her to Chicago. Karl is a first-generation Polish Chicagoan, born and raised in the city, with a deep connection to family, tradition, and the place that shaped him. Together, their differences have expanded their world and strengthened their bond. They have learned from each other, challenged each other, and built a relationship rooted inpatience, humor, devotion, and love. In many ways, their truest new beginning came when they returned to the church and their relationship with God grew stronger. Faith became not just something around them, but something within the life they were building together. Choosing Kansas City for their wedding is a return to where Katherine’s story began, and a meaningful place for both of them to gather the people they love. After seven years together, Katherine and Karl are grateful to celebrate this long-awaited day with family and friends. Some things in life are worth the wait.
